		10/22/2007 Big Six Research, Bibliography, and Rough Draft Point Value: ~ 120 points Class Period: 2nd Hour Class Subject: English II Honors Date Assigned: 10/15/2007 Required Materials: Big six papers: Brainstorming sheet, Data sheet, and evaluation sheet bibliography handout rough draft handout/notes internet pen/pencil Description: The data sheet is the second page of the Big Six research papers. We spent at least one or two days in class doing research. Students have been given tutoring opportunities during lunch and after school to complete research. Others have used home, friend, or public library computers to complete research. A lesson was taught today to show students how to change the data from data sheet into a five-paragraph essay. Students must finish rough drafts this weekend and show corrections. On Monday, students will be given classtime to type final drafts on computers. A flash/jump drive is recommended for saving data this year.

		10/30/2007 Letter of Compliment Point Value: 50 Class Period: 2nd period Class Subject: English II Honors Date Assigned: 10/29/2007 Required Materials: Rough draft done in class Template for letter of compliment Description: Students will revise and show corrections on letter of compliment. Final draft will be typed in class and printed by instructor.

November 2007

		11/01/2007 Letter of complaint Point Value: 50 Class Period: 2nd period Class Subject: English II Honors Date Assigned: 10/31/2007 Required Materials: Template for letter of complaint Rough draft for letter of complaint Description: Students will revise the letter of complaint and show revisions. Students will type final drafts at school on 11/1/07. Instructor will print out final drafts.

		11/16/2007 Reading log Point Value: 25 points per day Class Period: 2nd hour Class Subject: English II Honors Date Assigned: 10/30/2007 Required Materials: Reading log notebook Novel Description: Students will read for 30 mins. daily Monday -Friday. Students are required to follow prompts given and pasted in fronts of notebooks. Students are required to write 25 lines each day at home and may not simply summarize the story. Options include 4 drawings with quotes and 4 thinking maps per six weeks. Thinking maps will count as half pages as will drawings.
